Details About Sunflowers For Stacey Abstract Painting
The watercolour sunflowers have been collaged onto canvas and formed the central theme for the painting. There are painted and drawn elements using acrylic paints, inks, oil pastel and pencil which have been used throughout the various layers as the painting developed. There are scratched lines and thicker painted lines, each adding to a rich texture and variety. The juxtaposition of warm sunflowers and tall yellow shape in the background against the cool purple shades in the foreground, help the sunflower to glow. Areas of yellow and red marks splay out from the collaged painting and suggest the brightness the sunflowers radiate. The painting is finished with a varnish for UV protection and to enhance the colours and then a layer of cold wax to give a lovely subtle sheen finish.
Your painting is on a low profile canvas and is strung, ready to hang or frame as you wish.
The size of your panting is 40 cm by 30 cm by 1.5 cm

I am absolutely made up! I have loved this painting for a long time, finally treated myself !
Sue is so beautiful and talented, and this is reflected in the artwork she creates.
The quality is outstanding and delivered to the door with a smile, beautifully wrapped❤️
This painting really spoke to me ….
My wedding flowers were sunflowers with Blue flowers.
The last few years have been very difficult, losing my nan and mum within 6 months of each other. To me this is shown in the dark areas at the bottom, the dark times are still there at the top but not as suffocating ,with more free space. To me this shows hope.
The central part( stencil sunflower)moving upwards is unwritten. To me this is what’s yet to come and what I paint in that space is up to me, despite everything else going on.
A beautiful chaos of emotions, grounded by a central light 🌻
It’s unusual for one painting to speak to me so much, but I knew as soon as I saw it, it has to be mine 🥰x
